Anker SOLIX for Homey

Quick guide for version 0.7.9. The app connects your Anker installation to Homey through the Anker Cloud. View readings, track them in Insights and use them in Flows or HomeyScript.

Requirements and devices

You need Homey Pro running Homey 12.4.5 or newer, an internet connection and an Anker account with an installation that is already configured.

Device type in Homey Recognised models / function
Solarbank Solarbank 1 (A17C0), Solarbank 2 Pro/Plus/AC (A17C1/A17C3/A17C2), Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro (A17C5), Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro (AE103), Max (AE111), Max AC (A17E2/A17E23Z1); X1-P5K-S/X1-P6K-S for monitoring. Control support depends on the model.
Smart Meter Anker A17X7/A17X7US, Gen 2 AE1X0, P1 AE1R0, Shelly 3EM/Pro 3EM and EverHome EcoTracker IR, provided they are connected to the Anker installation.
Solar Panel Power from an individual reported PV input. The number of inputs depends on the model.
Solar panel grouped Combined PV power of the associated Solarbank.

Smart plugs, PowerDocks and Prime Chargers are not separate device types in this app. Available readings depend on the model, firmware and Anker Cloud.

Setup

  1. Check that your installation's devices are visible in the Anker app.
  2. In Homey, open Add device → Anker Solix → Solarbank (all generations).
  3. Select your Anker account's country or region and sign in with that account.
  4. Select your Solarbank. Repeat pairing for additional Solarbanks, smart meters or PV devices.
  5. Optional: under Settings → Apps → Anker Solix → Settings, save the default country for future pairing. For existing devices, correct the region in their device settings.

The default polling interval is 60 seconds and can be set per device between 30 and 600 seconds. Cloud readings may be delayed. Daily statistics use a shared cache and are normally requested no more than once every five minutes.

Existing devices do not need to be paired again after the update. Newly paired Solarbanks use the generic solarbank driver; the old solarbank2 driver remains available for existing devices and Flows.

Readings and Homey Energy

Depending on the device, readings include solar power, battery level, charging/discharging power, output to the home, grid power, home consumption and temperature.

  • Battery power: positive when charging, negative when discharging.
  • Grid power on the smart meter: positive for import, negative for export. Home consumption is a separate reading.
  • Total capacity: calculated from the model and reported expansion batteries. For mixed battery packs or incomplete Cloud data, enter this Solarbank's total capacity in kWh in its device settings; 0 enables automatic calculation.
  • Stored energy: total capacity × battery level. This is separate from the cumulative charging/discharging counters.

For Homey Energy, use the Solarbank as a battery and either the grouped solar panel or the individual PV inputs. Using both representations would count solar production twice. Energy counters survive restarts; no energy consumption is invented or retrospectively estimated during outages.

Charging status uses the individual Solarbank's state. On Solarbank 2 and newer hybrid models, Anker's “Detection” state is resolved using charging/discharging power. Missing or explicitly invalid/offline data is shown as “Unknown”. Operating mode displays a name such as “Manual schedule” instead of its API number. Custom readings use standard icons.

Daily values, Insights and HomeyScript

Daily values are measured in kWh and follow the current day in Homey's timezone. The Solarbank provides values including solar production, battery charging/discharging, grid import/export and home consumption. Additional values break down energy flows; availability depends on the Cloud. Smart meters and PV devices expose the daily values relevant to them.

Do not count site totals more than once: daily values from multiple Solarbanks in the same Anker installation refer to that same site. Missing readings remain unknown rather than being reported as 0. After midnight, readings remain unknown until Anker supplies data for the new day.

The readings are available as device capabilities in Insights and HomeyScript. Example capability IDs:

Capability Daily value
solix_daily_solar Solar production
solix_daily_charge / solix_daily_discharge Battery charging / discharging
solix_daily_grid_import / solix_daily_grid_export Grid import / export
solix_daily_home Home consumption
solix_daily_date Date of the daily readings

This HomeyScript reads a device's daily solar production and date. Replace DEVICE_ID with its Homey device ID:

const device = await Homey.devices.getDevice({ id: 'DEVICE_ID' });
return {
  date: device.capabilitiesObj.solix_daily_date?.value ?? null,
  solarProduction_kWh: device.capabilitiesObj.solix_daily_solar?.value ?? null,
};

Operating modes and power control

For new Flows, use Choose operating mode, which provides a dropdown. The older numeric card remains available for existing Flows. Solarbank 1 does not support this mode control.

Mode Meaning
Smart Meter (1) Automatic output based on a smart meter connected to the Anker installation.
Smart Plugs (2) Control based on supported smart plugs configured in Anker. A separate Homey smart-plug driver is not required.
Manual schedule (3) Uses the output power schedule configured in Anker.
Time of Use (5) Activates an existing Time-of-Use plan on a suitable model. The app does not create a tariff plan or download dynamic electricity prices.

The modes require compatible firmware and installation equipment. Temporary backup, AI control and dynamic tariff control are not separate selectable actions in this app.

The two power actions serve different purposes:

Action Usage
Set output power From Solarbank 2 onwards: changes the preset in the current Manual or Smart Plugs schedule slot using Homey's timezone. A shared weekly plan remains shared: the change applies to all weekdays included in that plan. The action is rejected in Smart Meter mode. Solarbank 1 uses the existing legacy command.
Set AC output limit A separate upper limit for compatible Solarbank 3/4 and Max models through HTTP, and standalone Solarbank 2 through optional MQTT, including in Smart Meter mode. Only wattages offered by Anker are accepted. It limits the site's AC output and does not set a home consumption target.

Solarbank 2 AC/Pro/Plus: the reference integration requires an additional MQTT command to change the actual output limit. This branch supports that command on standalone Solarbank 2 sites when Enable Anker MQTT is enabled in the device settings. The Manual schedule preset remains controllable.

Mode, schedule and AC-limit commands affect the Anker site and may therefore influence multiple Solarbanks. The power actions do not switch modes automatically. Active temporary backup charging must be ended before changing a preset. The app reads the stored Cloud setting back; this does not confirm the immediately measured device output.

Flow examples

  • Daily report: at a fixed time in the evening, include one Solarbank's daily readings as tags in your report. Use only one set of daily values per site.
  • Solar production target reached: when Daily energy value changed triggers for solar production and Daily energy is above your threshold, send a notification. Add your own daily lock in the Flow if you want only one notification per day.
  • Fixed output: first select Choose operating mode → Manual schedule, then Set output power → 300 W. Remember that changes may affect a shared weekly schedule.
  • Automatic control with a limit: on a supported model, select Smart Meter and use the separate AC-limit action to set a limit offered by Anker.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to check
Login or device discovery fails Check the account, region and installation visibility in the Anker app. Solarbanks already paired in Homey under the same account are excluded from the pairing list.
AC-limit action is unavailable Check model support and wait for the first successful device query. For Solarbank 2, enable Anker MQTT; only standalone sites are supported.
The power preset cannot be changed Use Manual or Smart Plugs mode and end temporary backup charging. In Smart Meter mode, use the AC-limit action for an upper limit if the model supports it.
“Anker has not confirmed …” Readback has not confirmed the requested setting yet. Check the Anker app before sending the command again.
Daily values are missing Wait for matching daily Cloud data. Unknown does not mean zero energy.
Capacity is incorrect Check expansion batteries and the manual total capacity setting for each Solarbank.
